Shenzhen New Frontier United Family Hospital and insurance provider Prudential signed an agreement for strategic cooperation today, making Prudential the first Hong Kong insurance company to work with the hospital to provide those eligible who visit the hospital for consultation with a more convenient and faster direct-payment service.[1] This collaboration is aimed at giving people who travel frequently between the mainland and Hong Kong more convenient, reliable medical services to satisfy their growing demand for outstanding cross-border medical services.

As a comprehensive private hospital with international operations, Hong Kong investment, an exceptional location, and outstanding medical resources, we offer comprehensive, diverse medical services, including professional consultation, surgery in numerous specialties, MRIs, physical exams, cross-border MDT consultation, postpartum recovery, and surgical hospitalization. This collaboration with Prudential will allow both parties to complement each other and marks a significant expansion in upgrading the network of GBA cross-border insurance-medical care services.

Antony Leung, New Frontier Co-founder and Chairman:
“Shenzhen New Frontier United Family Hospital and Prudential share the same principles of service, and both look forward to engaging in more innovative cooperation in the GBA insurance sector, bringing highly efficient, convenient, and internationally connected medical care services to all our patients. For people who have purchased Hong Kong insurance, direct payment means worry-free medical fee handling. Moreover, they can have consultations with Hong Kong physicians and make insurance payments while in Shenzhen, so they don’t have to deal with the hassle of traveling between both locales to get the care they need.”
Lin Zhigang, Prudential CEO:
“We’ve always kept the customer first and strived to provide outstanding medical coverage. I’m thrilled to be collaborating with Shenzhen New Frontier United Family Hospital, which is an exceptional medical facility, to give our best to ensure our customers have more convenient, efficient medical services and proper medical coverage. We hold fast to our service commitments as we expand the medical care network in the GBA, accompanying people on their journeys of health and making sure our mission ‘to be partners for every life and protectors for every future’ is being achieved to the fullest.”
Direct Payment of Medical Fees for Eligible Prudential Customers
Carl Wu, New Frontier Co-founder and CEO and UFH CEO:
“Our medical staff boldly face challenges and risks associated with the treatment process and technology and always keep treatment the priority. New Frontier has long invested itself in medical education and research and, as a result, has achieved numerous clinical technology breakthroughs, completed many complicated surgeries, and provided comprehensive integrated medical services, such as ERAT, the first UroLift procedure in southern China, ‘blind’ complicated cervical spine exploration/spinal cord decompression, and a great number of auricular reconstructions. We’re sure that the surgery and hospitalization coverage in this collaboration with Prudential will ease the burden on patients and their families.”
After treatment is completed, Prudential will directly pay the fees of approved procedures for the applicant. Before being treated, eligible customers of Prudential[1] may ask the hospital about the related fees, and the hospital will review and approve the applicable fees in advance. In addition, Prudential has obtained exemption from credit card authorization requirements, so customers do not need to pre-authorize their credit card to reserve the self-paid balance. Through our one-stop service that includes making appointments, physician visits, and treatment, this seamless payment arrangement will reduce the psychological and financial stress of treatment. As there is no need to worry about the post-treatment claims procedure, patients can focus on their treatment and recovery, which will help them rehabilitate faster. With the hospital’s complete medical care network, if Prudential customers have further medical needs, they will have prioritized scheduling and/or referrals with the hospital’s seamless connection to other New Frontier hospitals. The hospital will also have set up an insurance counter (to open sometime in Q2) where Prudential’s customers may obtain information on related resources and handle related administrative procedures.
Ouyang Peiling, Prudential Chief COO and Medical Insurance Business Director:
“Prudential and Shenzhen New Frontier United Family Hospital share the same service principles to meet the various medical and insurance needs of our customers. Through this collaboration, we will further consolidate our professional realm in health insurance and continue to optimize the health journey experience of our customers in the GBA. As can be seen, we’re actively exploring opportunities to cooperate with the best in the industry to provide our customers with comprehensive, convenient medical services.”
The hospital provides all kinds of general medical services that comply with international standards. Aside from our physicians from Tier 3, Grade A hospitals in the Chinese mainland, we boast highly experienced physicians from Hong Kong and abroad. Located in downtown Futian District and with advanced equipment and an exceptional medical team, the hospital will boost Prudential’s leading market position in the health management and medical services ecosystem.
